We love our students! They inspire us, they challenge us, they make us laugh and smile. But most importantly, they are each wonderful, unique individuals. That’s why we are highlighting one of our amazing students every month.

This month's featured student is Kevin!

Kevin has been playing piano for almost seven years! Less than a year into lessons, his study turned fully remote due to the pandemic, but that never slowed him down. Kevin has a great ear, is a fast learner, and - most of all - loves music! He enjoys learning popular and favorite tunes by ear, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Fur Elise, themes from The Addams Family and Pink Panther, and even songs by Eminem.

Kevin is always hard working, determined, and has a drive and passion to learn more. He applies new concepts and skills right away, and has great intuition with improv. He enjoys experimenting with and finding cool new chords, and is a master at scales. Given all this, it’s no surprise that he’s also excelled at viola in school orchestra!

Kevin has a great heart and always brings a smile to his lessons - and everyone at the studio!

What do you enjoy most about playing music?

Learning songs that I like and enjoy. I also met a lot of friends through music, I met people that enjoy piano and other instruments.

Do you have a favorite musical memory?

3 years ago, I went to my first in-person recital and I played the song from my first recital, it felt like a full-circle type of thing.

What is your favorite song to play?

Either Hedwig’s Theme from Harry Potter or Pirates of the Caribbean “He’s a Pirate”

What is a song you would like to learn to play?

Probably Fur Elise or the rest of Hedwig’s Theme.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Either computer science or an NBA player.

What is your favorite color?

Blue

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

To be able to give everything back to the world.

What animal would you be, if you were not human?

A dog
